Promoting British Values
Our six learning attitudes and bank of learning skills promote the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our learners and are deeply embedded into all areas of the curriculum. They will allow learners to participate fully in and contribute positively to life in modern Britain. In addition, through our curriculum, assemblies, whole school events and our very vibrant School Council, we are able to promote and encourage learners’ acceptance and engagement with the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. Our Community Cohesion project (Co-Co) is a prime example of CJS learners working together with other schools in order to further develop attitudes of respect and tolerance. Our ‘How Great is Britain’ whole school theme in the Summer Term celebrates many aspects of being British.
By promoting British values through SMSC development, we feel that we encourage harmony in our society while having zero-tolerance towards extremism and radicalisation.
