Year 6 2019 - 2020

For anyone wanting some extra ideas for keeping busy whilst you are at home, I have tried to put together a variety of different links to cover lots of subjects.  Many of them have individual activities to complete whilst some offer ongoing learning to work through at your own pace.  I hope that you find something here to interest and excite you.

Don’t forget to let us know how you are getting on and share anything that you get up to.

From Mrs Price😊

Many of you will have already started using Duolingo.  There are lots of different languages to have a go at.  Don’t stop at just the one – why not become a German or Spanish speaker?

Science

The experts from the Association for Science Educators have created these curriculum-led resources that have been specifically designed to help deliver a structured series of topic-based primary science lessons in a home environment. There are two topics for each year group but you can choose whatever interests you – there is an advantage to being at home learning!

Explorify at home is a weekly supply of activities for parents and carers to do with their learners at home. It's based on the primary science curriculum, but easy to do at home.

Kids Invent Stuff asks children to send in ideas for inventions.  They select some of the best ideas to make the invention.  Some of the inventions created so far have been the trampoline drum kit, a wearable oven, a tea train and (my favourite) the catapult alarm. Lots to watch and inspire some amazing inventing.

Welcome to the Year 6 Page and Summer Term part 2

A warm welcome back to Year 6 pupils.  It is fantastic to see so many of our Year 6 pupils safely back in school.  We hope they enjoy their final half term at CJS before moving on to their Senior Schools.  For those few pupils who remain at home, we hope that you keep safe and continue to access the  Home Learning, which will be placed onto the School Website each day.

Remember that you can continue to message your teacher on Class Dojo if you have any questions or want to share something you have done.  Thank you to all Year 6 parents for your continual support and for completing all consent and information forms over the past few weeks.  We will continue to do our upmost in ensuring that all pupils remain safe and enjoy being in school.

Enjoy the lovely weather and keep smilingsmiley
